Two Armed Men Illegally Enter TRNC from Cyprus: Arrested by Police
Two men were arrested in Northern Cyprus after illegally crossing into the TRNC from the Republic of Cyprus. They were found to be in possession of weapons and ammunition.
According to the police press office, the suspects were apprehended yesterday around 7:30 PM in the western part of the village of Geyveçinlik during Operation "Barbed Wire."
The men, aged 20 and 40, had secretly entered the TRNC from Cyprus, violating a first-degree restricted military zone.
During the search, authorities confiscated two 9mm pistols, two magazines, and 24 rounds of 9mm ammunition from the suspects.
Both individuals have been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.
