The Faculty of Dentistry at the Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences will continue to admit students
The Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences' Faculty of Dentistry will continue admitting students. The university has appealed the decision of the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation, and Coordination Council (YÖDAK).
According to the statement from the educational institution, the appeal against the decision to revoke the license was considered at YÖDAK's General Assembly on March 12, 2024.
"It has been decided that the Faculty of Dentistry at the Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences will continue to admit students. We continue to provide the best dental education on our island with our new students," the university's statement said.
It will be recalled that it was previously reported that the Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation, and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) temporarily revoked the license for teaching at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences (KSTÜ).
In the statement, YÖDAK noted that the council held a meeting and evaluated the course of the disciplinary investigation initiated based on the fact that the Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences promoted and/or appointed a staff member contrary to the conditions stated in the Regulation on Higher Education Institutions of the TRNC regarding the promotion and appointment of faculty members.
As a result of the assessment, it was announced that a unanimous decision was made to suspend and/or terminate the permission to start teaching from February 27, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
