The final part of the series "White Kingdom" to be filmed in Northern Cyprus
The Speaker of the Republican Assembly, Ziya Öztürkler, received a delegation from the film company Defne Film (Defne Film Şirketi), which announced plans to shoot the final part of the international series "White Kingdom" (White Kingdom) in Northern Cyprus.
During the meeting, Öztürkler noted that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has significant potential due to its natural beauty, historical heritage, and cultural diversity, and expressed gratitude to the producers for choosing the country for filming. According to him, promotion through series and films can increase the region’s recognition both domestically and abroad.
The film company received support from the Speaker for the idea of using visual projects to develop tourism, culture, and the economy. Öztürkler also emphasized that in recent years, with material and technical support from Turkey, progress has been made in education, healthcare, tourism, transportation, and infrastructure.
Producer Hasan Arslan stated that the project aims to showcase Cyprus’s historical values and heroes, as well as enhance the island’s international cultural recognition. Director Mehmet Çetin noted that filming took place in Los Angeles, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, and the final three-month segment will be produced in Northern Cyprus. According to him, the eight-episode digital series is being prepared as a high-quality production intended for international release.
