Güzelyurt Soil and Water Laboratory is put into operation
The Güzelyurt Soil and Water Laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has been put into operation in Northern Cyprus. The new laboratory building with modern equipment was opened with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Nicosia.
According to the ministry, for two years, the Güzelyurt Soil and Water Laboratory had limited services from the Department of Agriculture's specialists within the Agricultural Research Institute because the building did not meet earthquake standards.
The laboratory, which was given better analytical capabilities thanks to the new building and new equipment, analysed nitrogen in samples taken at the port from fertiliser imported into the country by agricultural inspection inspectors.
According to the published results of the study, the fertilisers imported into the country correspond to the content on the label.
