Robbers Steal $101,000 from Kyrenia Casino
Police are investigating the theft of a large sum of money from a casino in Kyrenia. Fraudsters stole over $101,000 using counterfeit invoices.
According to the police press office, the crime occurred between July 2022 and March 2024.
It has been established that two employees of the casino in Girne, aged 36 and 46, received a total of $101,089 by overpricing various items purchased for the casino from an advertising company. To defraud their employer, the perpetrators forged 228 invoices belonging to the casino.
After the police became aware of the incident, both suspects were detained. A 39-year-old woman, whom the police suspect is involved in the fraudulent scheme, was also arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
