Severe snowfall in Turkey is causing continued flight disruptions to Northern Cyprus, with more cancellations expected in the coming days.

Speaking to BRT, Mustafa Sofi, Director of the TRNC Civil Aviation Department, confirmed that while Ercan Airport is operating normally, adverse weather conditions in Turkey are significantly affecting flight schedules.

“The heavy snowfall in Istanbul is naturally disrupting air travel. However, Ercan Airport has not reported any emergency situations. Since airlines inform passengers in advance about flight cancellations in Istanbul, we haven’t experienced major congestion at Ercan,” he explained.
