Harmandji: After a difficult night, we greeted the morning with hope
The mayor of the Turkish part of Nicosia, Mehmet Harmandji, commented in the morning on the consequences of the heavy rains that hit the city.

"Good morning to everyone after a challenging night. On behalf of all our staff — we greeted this morning with hope," said Harmandji.
He noted that municipal services worked throughout the night to deal with the aftermath of the bad weather, especially in the three most problematic districts. The water levels in the riverbeds have now decreased, reducing the risk of flooding.
The only road that remains closed is Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu Street (the section between the hospital roundabout and the traffic lights in Ortaköy). After cleaning is completed, traffic will resume.
The mayor emphasized that the meteorological situation is under constant monitoring and that emergency services are ready for any possible new complications.
