The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) has warned debtors of impending electricity disconnection. The restrictive measure will affect those who owe more than 675 Turkish liras by January.

According to the resource provider, electricity will be disconnected for persistent non-payers starting on Tuesday, February 6.

The message stated that on the same day, electricity will be disconnected for subscribers with unpaid debts under installment plans arranged in accordance with legal contracts concluded with the institution.

"In connection with the collection of the institution's accounts receivable, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, electricity will be disconnected for all individuals and legal entities whose bill payment deadline expired in January 2024 or earlier, and whose debt exceeds 675 TL," the statement from the energy authorities said.

To avoid problems with electricity supply, subscribers are urged to settle their outstanding debts.
