Consular services in Northern Cyprus were received by the 3000th Russian
The Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Cyprus continues to provide assistance to compatriots. Recently, the assistance of diplomatic mission staff was received by the 3000th Russian.
This was reported in an interview with "Komsomolskaya Pravda" by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Cyprus, Murat Zyazikov.
"The 3000th visitor is, without exaggeration, a record figure, indicating not only the efficiency of our diplomats' work but also the unquestionable demand for it. And we will continue to do everything necessary to protect the interests and ensure the legitimate rights of our fellow citizens, including participation in the elections of the President of Russia on March 15-17," said Murat Zyazikov.
The diplomat reminded that in August of last year, the consular office of the Russian Embassy in Cyprus started operating in the northern part of Nicosia for the first time in history. Since then, a full-fledged reception of all compatriots in need of consular assistance has been held here weekly. It is worth noting that there are currently about 50,000 Russians living in Northern Cyprus.
"All Russians have a constitutional right to full consular protection and assistance in resolving relevant issues. Moreover, anywhere in the world. Protecting the interests of our citizens is an unconditional and unchanging priority in the work of embassies and consulates, including our diplomatic mission in divided Cyprus. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov has repeatedly emphasized this priority," emphasized the diplomat.
