The museum ship TCG Nusret will arrive in the TRNC
The Turkish military museum ship TCG Nusret is embarking on a tour of ports in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. It will be available for visits in port cities of Turkey and the TRNC.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, on April 20, the ship will arrive at the port of Dikili in western Turkey. On April 22-23, the ship will be in Izmir, on April 26 it will arrive at the international cruise port of Kusadasi, on April 28 in Bodrum, and on May 1 in Marmaris.
On May 3, residents of the port city of Kas on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey will be able to visit the ship, and on May 6, the ship will arrive in Alanya.
The next stop of the tour will be the TRNC: on May 9-10, the museum ship TCG Nusret will arrive in Kyrenia. Then the ship will sail back to Turkey: over the course of a month, the ship will visit Turkish ports in Mersin (May 13-14), Iskenderun (May 16), Tasucu (May 19), Anamur (May 21), Antalya (May 24-25), Fethiye (May 28), Marmaris (May 30), Gulluk (June 2), Cesme (June 5), and Ayvalik (June 7).
Nusret was a ship of the Ottoman Empire's navy, later Turkey's navy; during the Gallipoli Campaign of World War I, it served as a minelayer. In the Turkish navy, it not only served as a minelayer but also as a diving ship and a dispatch vessel.
