LTB has begun installing a solar power plant at the wastewater treatment facility in Haspolat

Lefkoşa Türk Belediyesi (LTB) announced the start of work on installing a solar energy system at the wastewater treatment plant in Haspolat. The project aims to improve the facility’s energy efficiency and strengthen environmental sustainability.
According to the municipality, the investment amounts to approximately €1.6 million. A system with a capacity of 840 kW is being installed on the site, which is expected to cover a significant portion of the facility’s electricity needs and reduce electricity costs by about 17%.
In addition to financial savings, the project is designed to deliver environmental benefits: once the system becomes operational, it is expected to prevent emissions of around 830 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
