The Turkish Cypriot Nurses and Midwives Union has announced a four-hour warning strike across oncology, hematology, pediatric oncology, and day chemotherapy services. The strike will take place on Friday, September 20, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Despite the strike announcement, union representatives emphasized that "the door to reconciliation and dialogue remains open." They expect the Prime Minister to meet with them by the end of the day to address their demands.

"We will not allow nursing services to be provided by individuals who disregard public health, nor will we tolerate the use of our profession as cheap political fodder, undermining its dignity," stated Ibrahim Özgoçmen, President of the Nurses and Midwives Union.

Last week, the union gave the Ministry of Health a five-day ultimatum to resolve several pressing issues, but no official response has been made by the ministry so far.

"This is a deadlock. We want to inform the public and apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused. The Ministry of Health and the Prime Minister will be held directly responsible for any incidents that may occur during the strike," the union stated.
