A racist scandal is unfolding in Northern Cyprus: a lifeguard at Glapsides Beach has called for banning Pakistanis and black citizens from the beach.

Hasan Gokko, a lifeguard at Glapsides Beach, posted a racist message on social media, expressing negative views towards Pakistani citizens and black residents of the TRNC. His offensive remarks sparked a strong public reaction, with social media users condemning the lifeguard's "rules" for visiting the popular swimming spot.

Famagusta Mayor Suleyman Ulucay has already responded to the scandalous post, calling the lifeguard's behavior a "disgrace."

"Unfortunately, the private business operating Glapsides Beach, within the boundaries of the Famagusta municipality, has adopted an unfortunate practice and declared that it will not allow people from certain countries or anyone bringing their own food or drinks to the beach. We will never accept this approach, which directly contradicts human rights," stated the mayor.

The mayor promised that the Famagusta authorities would take all necessary measures to "immediately remove this disgrace" because "no one should consider themselves above the law."
