Girne Mayor Announces Three Key Investment Projects for the Next Two Years
Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul has reflected on his two years in office and outlined three major projects that will be prioritized for funding in the region over the next two years. Significant investments will be made in road infrastructure, sewage systems, and the enhancement of public spaces.

"December 25, 2022, was one of the most pivotal moments in my life. These two years have flown by in the blink of an eye. During this time, we have achieved a lot, but there’s still much to accomplish for you in the next two years," Şenkul shared in a statement.
According to the mayor, the focus will be on three main areas for investment:
- Traffic Management and Road Safety: Tackling traffic congestion and improving road safety for residents.
- Sewage Infrastructure: Upgrading and modernizing the city’s sewage systems to better serve the community.
- Public Space Development: Creating new areas for social interaction and recreational activities, including spaces for sports and leisure.
These projects aim to address some of the region’s pressing challenges while improving the quality of life for residents.
