Meteorological Service: rainy weather expected in Northern Cyprus from the night of January 8 until the beginning of the week

The Meteorological Service reported that precipitation is expected in Northern Cyprus from the night of January 8 until the beginning of the week.

The forecast for the period January 8–14 indicates that in the first days air temperatures in inland areas and on the coast will range from 19–22 °C, while in the following days they will be around 15–18 °C.

During this period, the region will be under the influence of a low-pressure area and associated frontal systems.

Tomorrow, variable to heavy cloud cover is expected; during the night, localized rain or thunderstorms are possible, with fog in places in the morning. From Friday to Monday, localized rain, showers, or thunderstorms are forecast. From Tuesday, variable to mostly clear weather is expected.

Winds will be northerly in the first days, shifting to southerly and westerly in the following days, moderate and at times strong; on Friday, storm-force winds are possible in some areas.

For residents, this means a likelihood of precipitation and strengthening winds during the indicated period, which should be taken into account when planning travel and outdoor activities.
