ANTSO Maritime has announced that sea bus services between Anamur and Kyrenia will be suspended until spring.

This decision is due to the fact that the waters between Anamur and Kyrenia are classified as international open seas. As a result, sea buses are not included among the maritime vehicles permitted to operate during the winter season.

The statement also mentioned that routes operated by RoRo-ROPAX vessels will continue for another 12 months.

  • “Thus, by the end of the year, we will begin transporting passenger cars, vans, and trucks, as well as providing passenger services,” announced the carrier.

It is important to note that sea bus services between Anamur and Kyrenia commenced on June 12 of this year.

Previously, the TRNC Transport Minister Erhan Arıklı announced that passenger transportation via seaplanes might be introduced between Turkey and Northern Cyprus in the upcoming season. These seaplanes are expected to operate from the recently opened port of Anamur.
