Butchers in Northern Cyprus to Review Prices: Decision Expected Next Week

An important decision is being prepared in the meat industry of Northern Cyprus — representatives of the TRNC Butchers’ Association have announced an upcoming review of retail meat prices. According to available information, new rates will be determined at a meeting scheduled for next week.
The reason for this is the rise in livestock prices, previously reported by the Association of Producers and Livestock Breeders. According to representatives of the meat sector, the increase in purchase prices has made it impossible to maintain previous retail rates. Butchers emphasize that in recent months they have been operating with almost no profit, trying to maintain market stability, but under current conditions this has become unfeasible.
It is expected that after the discussion, a new price list will be established and implemented in the near future. Special attention will be given to the prices of beef and lamb — these categories are expected to see the greatest changes. Industry representatives assure that they will strive to maintain a balance between consumer interests and the need to cover rising costs.
The results of the meeting and the new prices will be announced following the gathering scheduled for next week.
