A terrible accident occurred on the Kyrenia mountain road, two people injured
According to information provided by the police press office, on June 24, 2025, around 11:00 AM, on the 8-9 km section of the Kyrenia–Degirmenlik main road, a car with license plate EN 474 driven by Habib Demir lost control while heading towards Arapkoy.
After the vehicle hit the metal barriers on the left side of the road, it entered the oncoming lane and blocked the front part of a truck with license plate SN 362 driven by Hama Javid, who was heading towards Degirmenlik at the time. The two vehicles collided.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the vehicle with license plate EN 474, Habib Demir, and the passenger Kadirhan Devedji were injured. The injured were taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia and received medical treatment. Their treatment is ongoing.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
