In Cyprus, a 14-year-old driver was seriously injured in an accident in Athienou; the car owner has been arrested
On December 1, the Greek Cypriot press reported a serious accident in Cyprus: in the village of Athienou (Kiracıköy), a 14-year-old teenager driving a car lost control and was involved in a crash. The victim was taken to the hospital, and his condition is considered serious.
According to the newspaper “Haravgi” and other publications, the cause of the accident was excessive speed. The car went off the road and hit an olive tree. Medical personnel are providing the teenager with necessary care.
The police detained a close relative of the victim, who is the owner of the car. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues.
The reported information is of interest to residents of Northern Cyprus traveling south: in this case, not only the actual driver but also the vehicle owner is being held accountable. Authorities intend to provide further updates on procedural actions.
