Firing Exercises Resume at the Mevlevi Range Near Güzelyurt
Military exercises involving mortar fire have resumed at the Mevlevi range near Güzelyurt in Northern Cyprus. For the next five days, access to the range will be restricted.
According to a statement from the Güzelyurt District Administration, anti-tank firing exercises will take place daily from December 23 to December 27, between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
As unexploded ordnance will be searched for and destroyed after the exercises, access to the area surrounding the range will remain prohibited until further notice.
If any unexploded munitions are found, they should be reported immediately to the command of the 2nd Infantry Battalion (Mevlevi) for disposal.
