Electrician Killed in Gönyeli Workplace Accident: Two Detained
A tragic workplace accident in Northern Cyprus has claimed the life of an electrician after an electrical pole fell on him. Authorities have detained two individuals in connection with the incident.
According to the police press office, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon at a private construction site located along the old Gönyeli – Boğazköy main road. The victim, 33-year-old Taymur Ansar, was working on installing a power line when the pole collapsed onto him. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ministry of Labor and the police have launched a joint investigation. Officials supervising the project have already been questioned, and two people, including the director of the commercial enterprise, have been detained on suspicion of negligence leading to the fatal accident.
