In Northern Cyprus, 140 kilograms of illegal beef were seized from the south
The TRNC police confiscated over 140 kilograms of meat illegally imported into the country. Two individuals have been detained on suspicion of illegally importing beef.
According to the police press service, during inspections conducted yesterday by the Famagusta Police Department's teams at the Beyarmudu land border crossing point, 80 kilograms of frozen beef were seized. The meat was found during a search of a car in which a 55-year-old man was traveling.
As part of further investigation, during a search at the home of a 58-year-old woman in Akdogan, who is involved in illegal importation, just over 60 kilograms of illegal meat were found.
Both suspects have been arrested, and the police investigation into the incident continues.
