Research Center for Animal Testing Opens in Northern Cyprus
The "Center for Research and Application of Experimental Animals" has been inaugurated at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Northern Cyprus. The laboratory is put into operation as part of the Pharmaceutical Faculty with funds from the Administration of Cyprus Foundations (Evkaf).
According to the Dean of the Pharmaceutical Faculty, Associate Professor Emre Hamurtekin, the new "Center for Research and Application of Experimental Animals" provides the opportunity to conduct research on medicinal drugs using live organisms on the island.
It is also reported that the center will conduct in vivo drug research (a method involving the use of living organisms, such as guinea pigs, rabbits, and rats) before clinical trials.
It's worth noting that the Administration of Cypriot Foundations (Evkaf) significantly influences the educational life of hundreds of university students, ensuring equal educational opportunities and continuing to support higher education institutions so that students can receive a higher quality education.
It is within the framework of this support that the "Center for Research and Application of Experimental Animals" was established at the EMU Pharmaceutical Faculty.
