Celebrating the 48th Anniversary of the Security Forces Command in Northern Cyprus
This week, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will hold festivities to mark significant anniversaries: the 48th anniversary of the Security Forces Command (GKK), the 66th anniversary of the Turkish Resistance Organization (TMT), and the 453rd anniversary of the Conquest of Cyprus. The main ceremonies will take place on August 1st.
According to the Security Forces Command, all martyr cemeteries across the TRNC will be open to the public from July 22 to August 1.
On August 1, a 16-kilometer endurance race will be held in Bogazkoy. The race will start at 06:00 from the Security Forces Headquarters and conclude in front of the Cyprus Mujahideen Association TMT building. Winners will receive their awards at the TMT Mujahideen Association.
Wreath-laying ceremonies will begin at 9:30 at Atatürk monuments in Nicosia and all district centers. At 10:30, flowers will be laid at the Nicosia Martyrs Monument, and at 12:00, at the Republic Park Monument.
Additionally, on August 1, at 20:00, a reception will be held in the garden of the command headquarters to celebrate the anniversary of the GKK.
