Eggs Have Become More Expensive in Northern Cyprus
With the determination of the new minimum wage in TRNC, the prices of essential food products continue to rise. Following meat, milk, and coffee, eggs have also become more expensive.
According to local media reports, the price of a pack of 30 eggs sold in markets has increased by 15 lira - from 125 TL to 140 TL. Thus, the cost of one egg now amounts to approximately 4.6 TL.
It is worth noting that the last time eggs became more expensive was in July of last year, also after the increase in the minimum wage. At that time, the cost of one egg rose to about 4.5 lira.
Recall that earlier in Northern Cyprus, a new minimum wage was established. After this, there has been an increase in food prices in the country. In particular, milk, coffee, and simit (Turkish bagel) have become more expensive.
