Contract signed in Northern Cyprus to complete infrastructure in Şahinler, Serhatköy and Gayretköy

On January 5, 2026, a contract was signed in Northern Cyprus for the completion of road and drainage infrastructure in the rural areas of Şahinler–Serhatköy–Gayretköy. The contract was concluded by the Ministry of the Interior with the contractor Salih Köroğlu.

The project предусматривает asphalt paving and the construction of stormwater drainage on 196 plots. Two years ago, water supply infrastructure in the same area was completed, and work to eliminate remaining deficiencies is ongoing.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement between Turkey and the TRNC with the support of the Development and Economic Cooperation Office of the Embassy of Turkey (K.E.İ.). The total cost of the project amounts to 58,957,568 Turkish lira.

The contract was signed by Minister of the Interior Dursun Oğuz, Undersecretary (Mustaar) Batu Beit, ministry officials Ercan Beşerler and Erkan Baştaş, technical staff of the Housing Development Administration, and contractor representative Gökay Köroğlu.

The project is expected to eliminate existing infrastructure shortcomings in the region, providing asphalted roads and a rainwater drainage system for local residents.
