North Cyprus Set to Introduce Laws on Gambling, Cryptocurrency, and Forex
North Cyprus is preparing to pass three important laws in the near future. First, parliament will introduce a gambling law, followed by legislation on cryptocurrencies and Forex trading.
In an interview on the Güne Dair TV program, Erhan Arıklı, the Minister of Public Works and Transport, revealed that these new bills have been added to the agenda for upcoming parliamentary sessions. According to the minister, all three laws have become "a major issue facing the government". As a result, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel has instructed the relevant parliamentary committee to fast-track the review of the bills: the Gambling Law will be passed first, followed by the laws on cryptocurrencies and Forex.
The Minister also noted that the delay in passing these laws is likely due to bureaucratic hurdles, which have slowed down many key decisions.
— "For example, I’ve been talking about the issue of chip-based driving licenses for several months now, but there’s been no progress so far," the minister told Kibris Postasi.
