17th International “Summer Joy” Children’s Festival to Be Held in Northern Cyprus
The 17th International “Summer Joy” Children’s Festival is set to begin in Northern Cyprus. The beloved annual event will take place at the Nicosia Folklore and Youth Center (FOGEM) from May 29 to June 2.
This year, the festival will host children's folk dance groups from Palestine, Colombia, Poland, Ukraine, and Turkey. Alongside local children, the participants will come together to share a message of peace, friendship, and cross-cultural unity.
The official opening ceremony will take place on Friday, May 30, kicking off with a festive parade at 7:00 PM. The parade will start at Fazıl Küçük Park and end at Kızılbaş Park, where a vibrant dance show featuring all international groups will begin at 8:00 PM.
The festival will conclude on Monday, June 2, with a special event titled “A White Summer with FOGEM” in Kyrenia. The closing celebration will begin with another joyful parade and finish with special dance performances by the children.
