Food parcels were distributed to needy families in Northern Cyprus
Food parcels sent to the TRNC by the General Directorate of Foundations of the Republic of Turkey were delivered to needy families through the Cyprus Foundations Administration (Evkaf) and non-governmental organizations.
Deputy Regional Director of the Adana Foundation, Ömer Çolak, noted that during Ramadan, food parcels will reach a larger number of needy families in Northern Cyprus.
It was previously reported that the General Directorate of Foundations of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey sent food parcels to several countries. The products will be distributed to those in need during Ramadan. In total, 20 thousand food parcels were sent to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
The food packages included flour, tomato paste, sunflower oil, beans, pasta, red lentils, noodles, rice, and tahini halva. Also included in the package are long-lasting products such as raisins and dates.
The TRNC received four thousand such sets. General Director of Evkaf, Professor Mustafa Tyumer, stated that the Administration of Foundations of the Turkish Republic always supports the TRNC and will continue to provide this support in the future.
