In Northern Cyprus today, National Sovereignty and Children's Day are celebrated
Today is a public holiday in the TRNC as the country observes National Sovereignty and Children's Day. On this occasion, the President of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, addressed the citizens of the country.
In his message on the occasion of National Sovereignty and Children's Day on April 23, the leader of the Turkish Cypriots emphasized that the current generation of children will shape the future of the entire country.
"We are delighted to enthusiastically celebrate April 23 - National Sovereignty and Children's Day, a gift to children from the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The future of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will be shaped by your hands and your vision," stated Ersin Tatar.
The President of Northern Cyprus also highlighted that April 23 is "one of the best examples of national sovereignty, independence, and democracy, marking the foundation day of the Turkish Republic."
"Our children are the future of our country. Our most important duty is to ensure that they grow up in a healthy, happy, and safe environment. For this reason, we will continue to work decisively to ensure that our children receive the best education, utilizing all the resources of our state and nation," emphasized the President of the TRNC.
It is worth noting that the National Sovereignty and Children's Day (Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramı) is celebrated in Turkey on April 23. This Turkish holiday is considered official, and in Northern Cyprus, it is not only widely celebrated but also a public holiday.
