District Electoral Committees Formed in Northern Cyprus

District electoral committees have been established across six regions in Northern Cyprus and will officially begin their duties on August 8.

According to a decision published in the Official Gazette, the Supreme Electoral Council of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has appointed new members to the district electoral committees in Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Güzelyurt, İskele, and Lefke, effective August 8, 2025.

Nicosia District Electoral Committee:

• President: Duriye Elkıran

• Principal Member: Cenkay İnan

• Full Member: Şerife Katip

• Alternate Member: Seran Bensen

Famagusta District Electoral Committee:

• President: Fadıl Aksun

• Principal Member: Ayşen Toroslu

• Principal Member: Evren Mürsel

• Alternate Member: Dilem Akçaba

Kyrenia District Electoral Committee:

• President: Nüvit Gazi Hacı

• Full Member: Mesut Mesutoğlu

• Principal Member: Hazan Aksun

• Alternate Member: Hazal Hacımulla

Güzelyurt District Electoral Committee:

• President: Banu Soyer

• Principal Member: Rauf Kurşad

• Principal Member: Nuray Necdet

• Alternate Member: Cale Dizdarlı

İskele District Electoral Committee:

• President: Musa Avcıoğlu

• Principal Member: Çiğdem Güzeler

• Full Member: Semra K. Güven

• Alternate Member: İzzet Erkanlılar

Lefke District Electoral Committee:

• President: Pınar Beyoğlu

• Principal Member: Umut İnan

• Principal Member: Nil Elodi Çeliker

• Alternate Member: Şevket Gazi

This move comes as part of ongoing preparations for the upcoming 2025 presidential election in Northern Cyprus. The election for the sixth President of the TRNC is scheduled to take place no later than October 12.
