Judicial Proceedings Against Cat Killer Begin in Northern Cyprus
In Iskele, a court trial starts today against a 43-year-old man accused of killing a cat and later posting a photograph of the dead animal on social media.
The accused shared an image of the mutilated cat on his social media accounts last November. This post sparked widespread public outrage. According to the man, the cat he killed was "harmful to newborn lambs in the sheep pen."
The police statement revealed, "In a cruel act, he killed an animal caught in a fox trap, photographed its body, and shared it on his social media account."
The case will be heard today in the Iskele court.
