In Northern Cyprus, a maximum price has been set for lamb
During a meeting of the Council of Ministers in the TRNC, a maximum permissible cost for lamb was established. The maximum price for lamb meat will be 550 TL per kilogram.
After the Council of Ministers meeting, TRNC Prime Minister Ersan Saner announced this decision. He also added that following consultations with the Union of Livestock Breeders and the Butchers Union, a protocol will be signed with the Ministries of Economy and Energy, Finance, Agriculture, and Natural Resources.
To establish maximum permissible prices for lamb, the government will provide necessary support to the Union of Livestock Breeders and the Butchers Union. After setting the maximum price for lamb meat, heads of relevant ministries will conduct regular inspections at markets.
According to the Prime Minister, fines will be imposed on butchers who exceed the established limit to prevent the increase in lamb prices.
"We aimed to ensure that everyone could have a barbecue at home on weekends," said Ersan Saner.
