On August 21, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced the launch of a new social housing program in Alayköy, noting that this is the first large-scale project of its kind in 27 years. According to him, the aim of the initiative is to help young people become homeowners and keep them "on their own land".

Üstel stated that the government intends to complete previously started but unfinished projects and develop programs supporting youth in sports, education, and living in their home regions. He also emphasized that political stability and cooperation with the president, the parliament speaker, and coalition partners are essential for implementing these plans.

The statement noted that the launch in Alayköy follows similar initiatives in other areas, including Güzelyurt. The prime minister did not provide specific data on the number of apartments, construction timelines, or participation conditions.

What this means for residents: the program creates additional opportunities for young families to acquire housing and may accelerate the completion of older infrastructure projects in the regions. Those interested are advised to follow official announcements from ministries and municipalities for information on application deadlines and selection criteria.
