Teachers Strike Again in Northern Cyprus
The Turkish Cypriot Teachers’ Union (KTÖS) and the Turkish Cypriot Secondary Education Teachers’ Union (KTOEÖS) will hold a protest on December 13 in front of the Ministry of Education building. A joint statement will be issued following the strike.
The picket began at 10:00, ahead of an extraordinary meeting of the Ministry of Education’s technical committee.
According to union statements, the Ministry of Education convened the extraordinary meeting of the technical committee on December 13 on the grounds that “the increase in the cost of living is considered an additional burden on the state budget.”
