In Northern Cyprus, a verdict was issued for another group of illegal residents without residence permits.
During inspections conducted across Northern Cyprus, the police identified six more individuals who were residing in the country without permission. Another seven previously arrested suspects have been sent to prison for a period not exceeding 20 days.
As reported by the police press service, before the Nicosia District Court appeared Hilary Muhpuho, Binene Kohantan, Nosa Enehikare, John Nezeki, Prinsep Nananier, Nelson Nana, and Chukwudi Okafor. All of them had been in the country for an extended period without a residency permit.
In particular, Hilary Muhpuho, stopped at the passport control in Nicosia, had been living in the country illegally since December 21, 2015, or 2,896 days, Chukwudi Okafor - 1,310 days since April 25, 2020, and Nelson Nana - 1,080 days since December 11, 2020.
The police stated that the Ministry of Interior had conducted the necessary investigation regarding the suspects and demanded their detention.
The judge, after evaluating the presented evidence, ordered the suspects to be sent to prison for a period not exceeding 20 days.
