A huge tornado recorded in Northern Cyprus

Residents of Alsancak in Northern Cyprus witnessed a rare natural phenomenon in the morning — a waterspout that formed in the sea near the shore. Eyewitnesses filmed the event and shared the footage with us.
The waterspout was visible from the coast around 8 a.m. and lasted for several minutes before gradually dissipating without reaching land. According to local meteorologists, such vortex formations occur due to a combination of high humidity, unstable air currents, and temperature differences between the sea and the atmosphere.
No reports of injuries or damage have been received. Meteorologists note that while waterspouts in the Mediterranean are not common, they are occasionally observed in the coastal areas of Cyprus during the autumn season.
