School holidays are coming to an end in Northern Cyprus
In the TRNC, students are returning to classes after the holidays. The second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year will begin in schools of the Department of Primary Education, the Department of Secondary Education, and the Department of Vocational and Technical Education on Friday, February 16.
The February holidays, which began with the distribution of report cards for primary and secondary education on January 31, will end on Friday. Students will start classes on Friday, February 16.
The 2023-2024 academic year in primary education schools of the Department of Primary Education will end with the distribution of report cards and certificates of completion on Friday, June 14.
In secondary education schools and vocational-technical education departments, the 2023-2024 academic year will end with the distribution of report cards on Tuesday, June 11. Entrance exams will be held from June 12 to June 21.
A total of 26,577 children are enrolled in 125 public and private schools under the Department of Primary Education.
In 48 public and private schools under the Department of Secondary Education, 25,079 students in middle and upper grades are studying.
In 12 schools under the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, 3,894 students in vocational high schools are acquiring knowledge.
Approximately 400 students are receiving education in apprenticeship centers and adult education centers.
There are 6,187 teachers working in public and private schools across the TRNC.
