A parliamentary friendship group from Turkey, the Turkey - TRNC Friendship Group, has arrived in Northern Cyprus
The delegation of the inter-parliamentary friendship group, Turkey - TRNC, is establishing contacts in Northern Cyprus. A working meeting took place yesterday between members of the Assembly of the Republic of the TRNC and the Friendship Group of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
As part of the visit to Northern Cyprus, the Turkish delegation, led by deputy Orhan Erdem from Konya, visited the grave of Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the leader of the struggle of the Cypriot-Turkish people for freedom, in Anıttepe, and the mausoleum of the founding president Rauf Raif Denktaş. A minute of silence was observed during the visits, and wreaths were laid at the monuments.
Speaking at the meeting in the Zalikha Chavushoglu Assembly Hall of the Republic, Resimé Kanaltay, the president of the Friendship Group of the Assembly of the Republic, expressed her pleasure in welcoming the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to the country.
