Dust returns to Northern Cyprus
The TRNC Department of Meteorology has once again issued an emergency warning due to dust polluting the air. Fine particles, brought to the region from North Africa, will persist in the atmosphere until Saturday evening.
According to meteorologists, the new "dust" warning is in effect in the country from 9:00 a.m. today, May 10, until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.
"Since dust particles from North Africa are expected to cause air pollution in our region, citizens sensitive to dust are advised to be cautious," the department's statement said.
It is worth noting that at the end of April and the beginning of May, a dust cloud covering the island persisted in the region for more than two weeks.
