Worker Crushed to Death by Steel Bars at a Construction Site in Girne
A tragic incident occurred at a construction site in the TRNC: a 27-year-old worker was fatally injured when steel bars fell on his head. Four days later, he passed away in the hospital.
According to the police, the incident took place on October 10 on Kubbeli Çeşme Street in Girne. Muhammad Walid, 27, was working on the first floor of the construction site when steel reinforcement bars fell on his head.
The seriously injured worker was taken to the intensive care unit at Near East University Hospital. Despite the doctors’ efforts, he passed away on October 14. Police have announced that the exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
As part of the investigation, the police arrested three individuals who were working at the site with the victim. The investigation into the cause of the tragedy is ongoing.
