The restoration of Porta Del Mare and the fortress walls of Famagusta has begun
In Famagusta, restoration and renovation work on the maritime gates (Porta Del Mare) and the historical fortress walls is commencing. This information comes from the Department of Antiquities and Museums under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and the Environment of the TRNC.
The statement emphasizes that these cultural heritage sites hold significant historical value for Famagusta in particular and the country as a whole. As part of the work, the interior of the planned museum will also be updated.
"The work carried out by the Department of Antiquities and Museums under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and the Environment will make a significant contribution to the historical wealth of our country," the statement says.
Recall that earlier in mid-December, it was reported that a City Museum would be established in the fortress city of Famagusta.
The corresponding protocol has been signed between the municipal authorities and the Association of City Museums.
