Bag with Money Found in Ercan Parking Lot Leads to Arrests
In Northern Cyprus, two individuals have been arrested after appropriating a bag containing money found in the Ercan Airport parking lot.
According to a police press release, on August 6th, around 5:30 PM, two individuals discovered a bag in the parking lot that contained $7,050, approximately 10,000 Turkish lira, a headset, and a professional ID card.
The owner of the bag noticed it was missing and reported it to the police. The suspects were apprehended the same day. During a search, around 10,000 TL, one earbud, and the bag were found in the compartment between the passenger and driver seats of a rented car.
The detainees have already appeared in court. During the hearing, a police representative stated that the missing $7,050 has not yet been found and requested the suspects be detained for two more days for further investigation. The court agreed with this decision.
