Drugs in Lefkoşa and Girne: three people detained in one day

In Lefkoşa and Girne, police detained three people on suspicion of illegal possession of narcotic substances. This was reported by the police press service.
Officers from the Anti-Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Department conducted a search at the home of an 18-year-old man. During the inspection, a metal screw was found, which, according to a preliminary assessment, had traces of a narcotic substance. The item was seized and sent for examination.
On the same day in Lefkoşa, a 30-year-old man was detained for loud behavior disturbing public order.
During a personal search, about 1 gram of a substance believed to be a narcotic was found on him, as well as various items with residues of narcotic substances. The man was detained for further investigation.
In Girne, police drew attention to a 28-year-old man whose behavior seemed suspicious.
As a result of a search—both on him and in his residence—about 35 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis were found. The drug was seized, and the suspect was arrested.
All three detainees are currently in custody.
Investigations into each case are ongoing, and the results of examinations of the seized substances are awaited.
