The "New" Turkish Low-Cost Airline has Started Ticket Sales: Russia and Northern Cyprus Among Destinations
The new budget airline, AJet, established based on the Turkish AnadoluJet, has commenced ticket sales for flights within the country and abroad. Among the destinations of the low-cost carrier are Russia and the TRNC.
According to the official website of the airline, in addition to 40 domestic flights, AJet plans to operate flights to European countries, as well as to the Middle East, Northern Cyprus, the CIS, and Russia. The low-cost carrier officially plans to fly on 52 international routes.
Russian airports currently only have Vnukovo in the schedule. Direct flights to Ankara will be operated from April 1st on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The cost of flights for spring dates is around 20,000 rubles. For now, travelers only have access to one fare - FLEX, which includes hand luggage up to 8 kg and baggage up to 20 kg.
To Northern Cyprus, the airline will operate four direct flights a day from the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport in Ercan. The ticket price currently starts from 1614 Turkish Lira for the very first night flight (departure at 00:40).
It should be noted that at the time of publication, the airline's website did not open from several countries, including Russia. In addition, antivirus software reacts to the website's content. Presumably, website malfunctions may be due to security certificate issues. The page works fine from Turkey and the TRNC.
AJet is the reincarnation of AnadoluJet, which existed as part of Turkish Airlines since 2008. In 2023, Turkey's national airline decided to create a new brand and separate its subsidiary airline, which became AJet.
The fleet of the new Turkish low-cost carrier consists of 95 aircraft. The number of aircraft is planned to double in the coming years.
