"Hunger Limit" for January Announced in Northern Cyprus
The Cyprus and Turkey Civil Servants Union (KTAMS) has announced that the "hunger limit" for a family of four on January 31, 2025, is 27,987 TL.
According to the union's research, the daily essential expenses for healthy nutrition are broken down as follows:
- Adult male: 250 TL per day, 7,434.30 TL per month
- Adult female: 239.71 TL per day, 7,503 TL per month
- Child (15–19 years old): 265.42 TL per day, 7,962.60 TL per month
- Child (4–6 years old): 177.66 TL per day, 5,329.80 TL per month
The report was prepared by the Department of Inpatient Healthcare Services at the Ministry of Health in Northern Cyprus. It takes into account the necessary dietary requirements for a family of four and the cost of the corresponding food products.
Price data was provided by the Statistical Institute of Northern Cyprus (TRSK).
