October in Northern Cyprus Kicks Off with Rising Temperatures

According to the TRNC Meteorology Department, on Tuesday, October 1st, the region is experiencing low pressure combined with warm, humid air. Meteorologists are forecasting partly cloudy skies with no rain expected.

Temperatures today will climb 2-3°C above the seasonal average, with most areas seeing highs between 27°C and 32°C.

Winds will be strong from the southwest, though the storm warning issued yesterday has been lifted. No storms are expected in the region today.

The ultraviolet (UV) index remains high, so it’s advised not to stay in direct sunlight for more than 15 minutes. There’s also an increased risk of wildfires due to the dry conditions.

• Western coast: Lefke – 29°C, Güzelyurt – 29°C

• Eastern coast: Famagusta – 32°C, Iskele – 30°C
• Karpas: Yenierenköy – 30°C
