Road Closure Schedule for Sewer Renovation on Dereboyu Street, Nicosia
The commencement of the first phase of sewer renovation on Dereboyu Street in Nicosia has been rescheduled to July 25. The municipality has released the road closure schedule to inform residents about the extensive works.
According to the municipality, the section where the construction will take place will be closed to traffic starting from midnight on July 24. The project, costing 36 million Turkish Lira, is funded by the European Union. It will be executed in three phases and is anticipated to be completed by September 15.
During the construction period, residents and those commuting to workplaces in the area can turn from the Old Pronto Roundabout onto Yıldırım Beyazıt Street, 300 meters from the roundabout, and use a nearby alley to reach Kumsal Park and exit onto Mehmet Akif Street.
Drivers heading to Ortaköy, Metehan, Gönyeli, Güzelyurt, and Kyrenia from the Old Pronto Roundabout can use Yıldırım Beyazıt and Bedrettin Demirel Streets. The area from Kumsal Park to the beginning of Gültekin Şengör Street will be entirely closed to traffic.
Drivers coming to Mehmet Akif Street from the Prime Minister’s traffic lights can turn onto Muhitpa Hüseyin Street, which runs parallel to Gültekin Şengör Street, and exit onto Bedrettin Demirel Street.
