Celebration Program Announced for the 101st Anniversary of the Founding of the Turkish Republic in Northern Cyprus

On October 29, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will host official ceremonies and events to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic.

Festivities for Republic Day will kick off today at 1:00 p.m., starting with an address by Turkish Republic Ambassador Yasemin Ekrem Serim on BRT, followed by a ceremonial 21-gun salute.

On Tuesday, October 29, celebrations will be held across all districts and regions in the TRNC.

In Nicosia, the ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. with a wreath-laying at the Atatürk Monument. Following the flag-raising and a moment of silence, the National Anthem will be played. The President of the TRNC and the Turkish Ambassador will then sign a Special Memorial Book. At 2:30 p.m., a parade will take place along Dereboyu Street.

In Famagusta, two separate ceremonies will mark the occasion. The first, beginning at 11:00 a.m., will be held in front of the Victory Monument, featuring wreath-laying, a moment of silence, and the National Anthem. The second ceremony will take place at Namık Kemal Square at 11:45 a.m., culminating in a concert by the Security Forces Orchestra.

In Kyrenia, a wreath-laying at the Atatürk Monument, followed by a moment of silence and the National Anthem, will start at 2:00 p.m. At 3:00 p.m., a parade will proceed from Ramadan Cemil Square to the Atatürk Monument, concluding with a concert by the Regional Orchestra Command of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Force Command (KTBK).

Additionally, on Monday at 7:00 p.m., the Kyrenia Amphitheater will host a concert by the "Antakya Civilizations Choir" under the auspices of the Turkish Embassy.

In Güzelyurt, the festivities will start at 9:30 a.m. at the Atatürk Monument.

In Iskele, the ceremony will commence at 8:30 a.m. with a wreath-laying at the Atatürk Monument in Ecevit Square, followed by a performance by the Security Forces Command Orchestra.

In Lefka, events will begin at 12:00 p.m. in front of the Atatürk Monument, preceded by a parade at 11:30 a.m. and followed by traditional folk dances and a music performance.

Similar celebrations will also take place in Mehmetçik, Akdoğan, and Geçitkale.

In addition to these events, the TRNC Department of Sports will organize sports activities in honor of Republic Day.

Today, the Badminton Federation is holding a "Children’s Champions Badminton Festival" at 6:00 p.m. at the Near East College Sports Hall in Nicosia.

The Taekwondo Federation will host the "Republic Day Taekwondo Karate Budo Break Championship" on October 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Eurasia Taekwondo Center in Kyrenia.
