Victory Day Celebrations in TRNC Announced

On Friday, August 30, the TRNC will commemorate Victory Day with formal events across all municipalities in Northern Cyprus.

Victory Day is an official national holiday in both the Turkish Republic and the TRNC, widely celebrated to honor the victory of the Turkish army under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

According to the Chairman of the Central Committee for National Day Celebrations, the day's events will start with a formal reception hosted by the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic to Nicosia, Yasin Ekrem Serim, accompanied by Major General Sebahattin Kılınç, Commander of the Turkish Cypriot Peacekeeping Forces. The reception will take place at 08:45 at the KTKA Command Casino in Ortaköy.

The wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk Monument in Nicosia will begin at 09:30. Following a minute of silence, there will be a flag-raising ceremony, the national anthem will be sung, and the Special Book of Remembrance will be signed.

At 10:00, the Official Parade will commence on Fazıl Küçük Boulevard. The ceremony will feature flag-raising, the national anthem, and a review of ceremonial troops.

President of the TRNC, Ersin Tatar, will address the crowd following the parade.

In Famagusta, two separate ceremonies will be held: at 17:00, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the Victory Monument, followed by a minute of silence and a flag-raising ceremony with the national anthem.

At 13:30, a festive parade will take place, concluding with a concert.

In Kyrenia, the ceremony will start at 16:30 at the Atatürk Monument. It will include wreath-laying, the national anthem, and flag-raising.

Additionally, at 16:10, there will be a concert by the "KTBC Orchestra."

In Güzelyurt, the ceremony will begin at 09:00 at the Atatürk Monument in front of the district governor's office. It will feature wreath-laying, a minute of silence, and flag-raising with the national anthem, followed by a parade in front of the museum, a review of the troops, and congratulatory speeches.

In İskele, the ceremony will start at 09:00 in Ecevit Square. It will include wreath-laying at the Atatürk Monument, a minute of silence, and flag-raising with the national anthem. The event will continue with performances, folk dances, poems, and conclude with a parade.

In Lefke, celebrations will take place at 18:00 in front of the Atatürk Monument. The ceremony will involve wreath-laying, a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs, flag-raising with the national anthem, and a review of ceremonial troops.

Victory Day events on August 30 will also be held in the districts of Akdoğan, Geçitkale, and Mehmetçik, starting at 09:00 in front of the Atatürk Monuments.
